Ukrainian

Ukrainian belongs to the East Slavic subgroup of the Slavic languages. It is the official state language of Ukraine but it is spoken in many other countries. Ukrainian in its written form uses the Cyrillic alphabet. The language shares some vocabulary with the languages of the neighboring Slavic nations, mainly with Polish, Slovak, Croatian and Russian.
