Romansh |
Romansh is one of the four national languages of Switzerland, along with German, Italian and French. It belongs to the Romance languages and is believed to have descended from the Vulgar Latin variety spoken by Romans that had occupied the region. As such, Romansh somewhat resembles Italian, French, Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian. It is an official language and all of its dialects is taught in schools.
