Maltese

Maltese is descended from Maghrebi Arabic and is a Semitic language. In fact, it is the only Semitic language written in the Latin alphabet in its standard form. Maltese is the national language of Malta, but is also spoken in Australia, Gibraltar, the United Kingdom and Canada.
