Lingala |
The Lingala language has been classified as a Bantu language. It is spoken in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville), and to a certain extent in Angola and the Central African Republic. Lingala has many loans from French. There are also some Portuguese, English and Dutch influences. The Lingala language can be divided in various dialects/variations. The major variations are : Standard Lingala, Spoken Lingala, Kinshasa Lingala and Brazzaville Lingala.
