Swiss German

Swiss German is one of the Alemannic dialects spoken in Switzerland. It belongs to the West Germanic languages and is also spoken in Liechntenstein. The dialects of Swiss German must not be confused with Swiss Standard German, the variety of standard German used for formal writing in Switzerland.
