Greek

Greek language belongs to the Indo-European languages. It is the official language of Greece and Cyprus. The dialect spoken in Cyprus is closer to Classical Greek than that spoken in Greece. The language is also spoken by Greek immigrants in various countries such as Australia, U.S.A, South Africa, Germany etc. Furthermore, Greek is one of the earliest attested Indo-European languages. It has a documented history of 3,400 years, as fragmentary records in Mycenaean have been dated back to the 15th or 14th century BC.
