Amharic

Amharic language belongs to the Semitic family of languages and is spoken mainly in the North Central Ethiopia by the Amhara, an ethnic group of about 23 million people. It is the official language of the country and the second most spoken Semitic language in the world after Arabic. It is also spoken outside Ethiopia by 2.7 million immigrants mostly in Egypt, Israel, Sweden and Eritrea.
