Introducing Eatoni Mail's RSS reader feature!
With Eatoni Mail you can read your favorite RSS feeds directly on your phone, as easy as reading your email!
You can either supply the address of your feed, or use one of the easy to remember shortcuts for useful services such as news, weather, stock market, traffic alerts or even Yahoo! searches.
This feature is automatically enabled on all existing Eatoni Mail versions, so even if the Eatoni Mail version you downloaded did not advertise RSS capability, you can still configure it to use the service.
Setup
A feed is set up like any email account, by going to "Set Profile", selecting "Add Profile".
Then you enter the RSS feed - specific details:

Give any name you wish to the new profile, preferably something descriptive for your later convenience. |
In the email address field enter the URL of your RSS feed (including "http://") or one of the special shortcuts, followed by @feed.s. |
You can enter anything as password. If you are asked about Advanced/POP3 setting choose No/Cancel. |
Access your inbox and the RSS feed items will come up as email messages. |

Note: Remember to switch to your regular email profile when you want to send email messages, otherwise your messages will appear to come from "...@feed.s". |
Basic RSS feed shortcuts
Remember, you can always enter the URL of the RSS feed directly in the email field for Eatoni Mail to access it. However, some interesting feeds are built in the Eatoni server and can be accessed with an easy shortcut:

Special Feed Shortcuts
There are some RSS feeds that require user input. In the tables below, the user-edited part of the shortcut is CAPITALIZED. For example, a weather service might require your ZIP code to provide you with your local conditions and forecast and for that you replace the "ZIP" part of the shortcut with your own ZIP code, and type it in the Eatoni profile email field.
Advanced users could also visit the URL link for each service and find out how to control the feeds even more by directly entering custom URL's.
Finance / Stock Market
If you want to follow the news regarding a specific stock, there are several services you can access through Eatoni Mail by entering the desired stock symbol.

Yahoo! Search
Yahoo! let's you get search results as RSS feeds. Eatoni Mail will help you with a shortcut - replace YOURSEARCH bellow with your yahoo search, but be careful because you will have to replace spaces with underscores ("_" is typed by pressing punc mode + key 4 on Eatoni Mail).
Also, you can use quotes to search for phrases instead of single words.
