Kinyarwanda belongs to the Bantu language family and is mainly spoken in Rwanda. It is a tonal language closely linked to Kirundi, a language spoken in the neighboring country, Burundi. Three ethnic groups living in Rwanda and Burundi, Hutu, Tutsi and Twa speak Kinyarwanda.
